The Mizo students in RNT Medical College is a warm
family sharing each others moments of joy, sorrows and
celebration etc. As it is written in the Bible, Romans 12:15
" Rejoice with those who rejoice;mourn with those who
mourn.",whenever there is any special occasion like
birthdays, passing of exams etc, we share it with each other.
Here is a list of some functions and activities which we use to
observe amongst ourselves:
1.NOMINEES
MEET: Every sunday evening from 5:00pm,we use to have a meet
in the C.N.I church.this is the time to share our
feelings,testimonies,happiness & sorrows.We also have
discussions on various topics from Bibles. Most important, this is
the time when we worship & praise GOD in unison. It would be
worthwhile to mention that the offerings collected on this meet
are used for helping the poor& needy.
2.SUNDAY
CHURCH SERVICE: Every sunday from 9:00am till 12:00,we use
to have a church service under the guidance of Pastor Starling.
Here the mizo students play an important role like conducting
the service and participating actively in the Worship team, to
name a few.
3.JUNIORS'
TREAT: Every year,it is a tradition among the RNT Mizo
students to have a Juniors' treat. Here the junior-most students
contribute money to organise a picnic for the nominees. We would
go to a nice spot, have a great picnic and rag the juniors...hihi!Yes,
"rag the juniors",this is the only time the seniors
can rag the juniors. The junior most are asked to sing, maybe
dance also etc.But there is no physical ragging.the juniors'
treat are always enjoyed by all. Moreover it creates a strong
bond between the seniors & juniors.
4.ADVANCE
CHRISTMAS : Advance Christmas Party more appropriately
called "get together"are held every year around first
week of december. We exchange Christmas gifts, sing Christmas
carols and have a whole lot of fun.It really brings the spirit
of Christmas alive in each one of us.
5.VALENTINES'
DAY PARTY:On valentines` night,normally we use to have a
party. This is the time when we dance, enjoy and share a great
dinner. This is enjoyed by all including those who dosent have a
valentine:)
6.BIRTHDAYS:
Its is a tradition here to celebrate Birthdays. This is the time
when we sit around and congratulate & appreciate the
Birthday boy/gal for the good things he/she had done. Its the
time when we say "thank you" to the bday boy/gal .
7.DIWALI:
First of all, let me make it clear that we dont celebrate
diwali but rather enjoy the shows that come along with it.Every
diwali night we use to have a walk through the decorated street
and have a dinner at the rooftop restaurant and enjoying the
fire works.
Apart from these,we use to have various get-togethers.Sometimes
we go for a walk,a hike in the mountains, sometimes for a swim
etc.
This report would be incomplete if i dont mention Mrs.Puii
and Mr.Manu (YWAM Missionaries) who look after us like their
children. They are our parents away from home.May God bless them
for their Love towards us.
